Prof. Dr. Nihat AkkusPROF. DR. NIHAT AKKUS OBTAINED HIS UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE FROM MARMARA UNIVERSITY IN THE FIELD OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING IN 1983. AFTER COMPLETING MASTER DEGREE STUDY IN THE SAME UNIVERSITY, HE WENT TO JAPAN TO STUDY OBTAIN A DOCTORATE DEGREE AT THE TOKYO METROPOLITAN UNIVERSITY IN THE FIELD OF SUPERPLASTIC METAL DEFORMATIONS FROM THE YEARS 1992 TO 1996.
HE WAS RESEARCH ASSISTANT AT MARMARA UNIVERSITY FROM 1985 TO 1992 AND THEN AT TOKYO METROPOLITAN UNIVERSITY FROM 1996 TO 2002.
HE WORKED AS POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCHER IN BOURGOGNE UNIVERSITY IN FRANCE AND OBTAINED FIRST ASSOCIATE PROFESSORSHIP FROM 2001 TO 2002.
HE WAS THE FOUNDING HEAD OF THE DEPARTMENT OF MECHATRONICS ENGINEERING OF MARMARA UNIVERSITY, FOUNDING RECTOR OF GEDIK UNIVERSITY AND CONTRIBUTED TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE AUTHORIZED NATIONAL BODY OF INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF WELDING.
HE HAS MORE THAN 100 SCIENTIFIC PAPERS AND 7 BOOKS IN THE FIELD OF MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING.

Prof. Dr. Volkan AtalayProf. Dr. Volkan Atalay is a faculty member at the Department of Computer Engineering, Middle East Technical University (METU-ODTÜ) in Ankara, Turkey. Prof. Atalay has served as the Vice President of METU and the Chairman of Board of Directors at ODTÜ TEKNOKENT (METU Technopolis) from August 2010 to August 2016. After obtaining BSc and MSc degrees from METU, Prof. Atalay earned a PhD degree from the University of Paris in 1993. He worked as an Associate Professor at Virginia Tech, Virginia, USA during the whole year of 2004. Prof. Atalay was awarded the Mustafa Parlar Research Achievement Award in 2005. He is currently serving as a member of the Arcelik Research and Development Advisory board, the Turkish Aerospace Industries Technology Advisory Board, the Board of Directors of the Informatics Association of Turkey-Ankara Branch, and the Platform for Digital Transformation of Turkish Industry (Infrastructure Working Committee).

CEO of Global Success Club
Global Success is headed by CEO Ms. Işınay Kemmler. Ms. Kemmler was born in Turkey in 1968. She studied international relations at the Marmara University in Istanbul and came to Germany in the early 1990s. She received her diploma in Political Science, Economics and Media Sciences from the Philipps-University in Marburg, Germany.
After graduating from Philipps-University, she held several positions doing consulting and marketing management work in the IT industry in global firms like EDS and the Actuate Corporation. In 2005 she started her own consulting company, Kemmler Consulting, through which she offered strategic international marketing consulting services in the B2B environment with a focus on innovative, technical products. Ms. Kemmler is the author of the book, "Business Know-How Turkey" which was published by Redline Wirtschaftsverlag in 2008. The book serves as a guide for German-speaking business executives interested in doing business in Turkey.
After several years of working with international businesses, Ms. Kemmler realized there was an opportunity to make it even easier for them to connect and collaborate with, as well as benefit from each other. From this realization, the Global Success Club was born. The Global Success Club is an exclusive online network that gives executives of international, innovative businesses a platform through which they can connect with each other, share experiences and expertise, connect with relevant organizations and government agencies and take advantage of special events and offers, like intimate fireside chats with experts and use of the Global Success Club headquarters for meetings.
Outside of her work at Global Success, Ms. Kemmler has been active in various social causes. She founded the NGO IKU.NET, a women's network for intercultural entrepreneurs that aims to promote entrepreneurship and the benefits of cultural diversity both in business and society as a whole. The project received an award from the German government recognizing the innovativeness of its approach. She is currently the president of IKU.NET and also serves as a board member for the European Committee of Hesse (EKH), representing women's organizations and associations in Hesse.

Erhan Z. Kilicozlu
Erhan Kilicozlu, CFA is a Co-founder and Managing Partner of ACT Venture Partners, an early stage technology fund, funded by the European Investment Fund and other private investors. Mr. Kilicozlu started collage at Istanbul Technical University and graduated with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the State University of New York, Buffalo. He started his career as an engineer with GE's Power Generation division in Schenectady, NY. Throughout the years, he served several power generation companies on the East Coast. He then went on and earned his MBA and an MS degree in Finance from the University of Maryland, Collage Park. During this period, he studied abroad at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology for a semester. Later he moved to Hong Kong to work for Peregrine Investments as an emerging market bond trader covering mainly Thailand and Indonesia.
He continued his career in Emerging Market Sales & Trading at Moscow based Renaissance Capital, followed by PaineWebber in New York and Global Securities in Istanbul. Mr. Kilicozlu then moved to London in 2002 and started working for Meridian Capital where he assisted managing a multi-billion dollar portfolio of listed and private assets. In 2013 he moved back to Istanbul with Technology Reserve, a start-up aiming to form a technology transfer platform to bring together multinationals and SMEs for the purpose of technology transfer and innovation. In 2015, along with his partners he launched ACT Venture Partners.

Prof. Dr. F. Lehmann
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Frank H. Lehmann, born 1961, is Member of the Board of Mercedes-Benz Türk A.S. and Director of the Truck Plant Aksaray. After completing training as a mechanic ("Maschinenschlosser") he studied Mechanical Engineering at RWTH Aachen. After receiving his Dipl.-Ing. he joined WZL of RWTH Aachen in the field of Manufacturing Engineering. After his Dr.-Ing. he was responsible for research coordination in his field as Chief Engineer. WZL works very closely with the industry to develop ready to use solutions based on the research of the institute; both with industrial and research partners in Germany and Europe.
After two years working as Internal Consultant for Thyssen Handelsunion, Prof. Lehmann joined Daimler AG. He worked 5 years in EvoBus, the bus & coach division where he was responsible for Strategic Procurement and the Czech production plant in Holysov. He then took over responsibility for Manufacturing Engineering of the Commercial Vehicle Division. In 2003 he held various positions in Mercedes-Trucks and Daimler Trucks including responsibility for building new truck assembly plants, ramping-up new products and installing & improving production networks. Since 2015 he has been Plant Manager in Aksaray/ Turkey.
Prof. Lehmann has been teaching Manufacturing Engineering of Commercial Vehicles at TU Kaiserslautern since 2004. He also started to teach at The Turkish-German University of Istanbul recently.

Chief Technology Officer at the Şişecam Group
Prof. Dr. Şener Oktik
Prof. Dr. Şener Oktik is currently the president of the research and technological development department (Chief Technology Officer, CTO) of the world's 10th largest glass producers, Şişecam, and the chairman of the "Turkish Solar Energy Industry Association, GENSED". He is a senior experimental applied physicist with academic/industrial research in technological development and teaching expertise in the growth and characterization of crystalline and amorphous bulk materials, as well as thin and thick film semiconductor materials and their applications in the field of the photovoltaic value chain.
Prof. Dr. Oktik graduated in 1976 and received M.Eng. in "Applied Physics" in 1977 from the University of Ankara (Turkey). He was awarded a Ph.D. in "Applied Physics" in 1982 from the Department of Applied Physics and Electronics at Durham University (UK) and became an associate professor in 1986 and a full professor in 1995. Professor Oktik worked as a lecturer, research scientist, and top executive at a number of universities, such as Durham University (UK), Lecce University (Italy), Stuttgart University (Germany), Selcuk and Mugla University (Turkey) and as a senior research scientist, chief technologist and top executive at companies such as Imperial Chemical Industries PLC ("ICI") and BP Solar (UK), Industrial Research Labs of Durham University (UK), Anel Group (Turkey), Arıkanlı Holding (Turkey) and Şişecam Group (Turkey).
Prof. Dr. Oktik served as the "Rector" (2002 – 2010) and as a "Vice Rector" (1998-2002) at Mugla University (Turkey). He was an advisory board member for the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey between 2003-2005 and a member of the "Turkish Delegation" in the accession process of Turkey to European Union representing the Council of Higher Education to negotiate Chapter 25 (Research and Technology) and Chapter 26 (Education and Culture).
Prof. Dr. Oktik is an active member of the following professional and non-governmental organizations/committees: International Commission for Glass, European Society for Glass, EU Photovoltaic Technology Platform, EU Physical Society "Energy Working Group", Ex-Co Member of IEA Photovoltaic Power Systems Programme, Turkish Solar Energy Industry Association, Turkish Clean Energy Foundation, Turkish National Innovation Group, Euro Solar, Institute of Physics, and the Turkish Society of Physics.
Prof. Dr. Oktik has published over 100 scientific and technical publications and is the inventor/co-inventor of two world patents in the photovoltaic field. His work on renewable energy was awarded by Euro Solar in 2009 and by ICCI in 2011. He was also awarded by the Turkish Physical Society for his contribution to physics education in Turkey in 2011.
Prof. Oktik was born on March 23, 1955 in Uçhisar Nevşehir. He is married and has two children.
